A: Omwami gy'ali ssebo? ♫ (Is mister there?)
B: Taliyo. ♫ (He’s not there.)
A: Yagenze wa? ♫ (Where did he go?)
B: Yagenze mu kibuga kukola, nnyabo. ♫ (He has gone to town to work, madam.)
A: Yagenze kukola? ♫ (He has gone to work?)
B: Mmm. ♫ (confirming reply)
A: Anaakomawo ddi? ♫ (When will he return?)
B: Kawungeezi. ♫ (In the evening.)
A: Kawungeezi? ♫ (In the evening?)
B: Mmm. ♫ (confirming reply)
A: Ye, omukyala gy'ali? ♫ (Is madam there?)
B: Omukyala agenze mu nnimiro. ♫ (Madam has gone to the garden.)
A: Agenze mu nnimiro? ♫ (She has gone to the garden?)
B: Mmm. ♫ (confirming reply)
A: Mbadde mpitayitako awo, ne ŋŋamba nti ka ŋŋende bano mbabuuzeko. ♫ (I was passing by and I decided to go to greet those here at home.)

Yagenda mu Buganda kusomesa. ♫ (He/she went to Buganda to teach.)
Yagenda mu kibiina kuyiga. ♫ (He/she went to class to learn.)
Yagenda mu kyalo kulima. ♫ (He/she went to the village to farm.)
Yagenda ka kuwummula. ♫ (He/she went home to rest.)
Yagenda mu kizannyiro kuzannya. ♫ (He/she went to the playground to play.)
Yagenda mu dduuka kugula ssaati. ♫ (He/she went to the store to buy a shirt.)
