Lesson 92 – Duration of Time

A: Musoke, gino emyezi emeka kasookedde Kadoko agenda mu Amerika? ♫ (Musoke, how many months now since Kadoko left for America?)
B: Kaakati kumpi emyezi ebiri kasookedde agenda. ♫ (It's about two months ago since he left.)
A: Anaamalayo bbanga ki? ♫ (How long shall he be there?)
B: Ndowooza anaamalayo mwaka mulamba. ♫ (I think he shall be there a whole year there.)
A: Yagenda n'engoye ze zonna? ♫ (Did he go with all his clothes?)
B: Nedda. Yatwalako zimu. Endala yazireka. ♫ (No. He took some. He left others.)
A: Ziri ludda wa? ♫ (Where are they?)
B: Ziri mu ssaanduuko ye. ♫ (They're in his trunk.)
A: Ooo! ♫ (Really!?)
B: Eee. ♫ (Yes.)

Tujja kubeera muno kumala bbanga ki? ♫ (How long are we going to stay here?)
Tujja kubeera muno okumala essaawa nnamba. ♫ (We will stay here for a whole hour.)

Mugenda kusomesa mu Uganda okumala emyaka emeka? ♫ (How long are you [.pl] going to teach in Uganda?)
Tugenda kusomesa mu Uganda okumala ebbanga lya myaka ebiri. ♫ (We are going to teach in Uganda for a period of two years.)

Engoye nsireke mu mazzi okumala eddakiika mmeka? ♫ (How many minutes shall I leave the clothes in the water?)
Engoye zireke mu mazzi okumala eddakiika kkumi. ♫ (Leave the clothes in the water for ten minutes.)
