The children form a large circle, all facing the centre. One child is chosen to stand in the middle. A child from the circle begins the game by throwing the ball at the child in the centre, who must duck or dodge so that he does not get hit by the ball. If he successfully "dodges" the ball, the child beside the one who threw last gets a chance to throw, and this goes on around the circle until someone hits him. When he is hit, the child in the centre changes place with the one who threw the ball. The aim is to try to get into the centre and stay there as long as possible.
