Dearly loved Friends, %% Abeemikwano Abaagalwa Ennyo,
As will by now be all too apparent, %% Kaakano nga bwe kyeragidde ddala obulungi, 
the Five Year Plan’s final year has brought challenges different to those of the preceding four.%% omwaka ogusembyeyo mu Nteekateeka ey’Emyaka Etaano gulimu okusoomooza okw’enjawulo okutaali mu egyo ena egiyise.  
The world is caught in the grip of a fast-spreading virus %% Ensi yonna eri ku bunkenke obuyitirivu olw’akawuka akasaasaa ku misinde egya yiriyiri 
that has claimed many thousands of lives %% ne kasaanyaawo obulamu bw’abantu nkumi na nkumi 
and severely disrupted a large share of humanity’s social and economic activity. %% n’okutaataganya embeera z’abantu bonna mu bulamu bwabwe obwa bulijjo n’ebyenfuna yaabwe. 
Yet the Bahá’í community has remained composed %% Naye nno abagoberezi b’enzikiriza ya Bahá’í basigadde bakkakamu

It has found ways to ensure the continuity of community life, %% Bazudde amakubo ag’okuyitamu okukakasa nti obulamu bw’abantu ab’omu bitundu byabwe tebuddirira,
while also striving to play its part in meeting spiritual and material needs in society more widely %%  mu kiseera kino kye kimu nga balafuubana okulaga obuvunaanyizibwa bwabwe mu kukola ku byetaago by’omubiri n’omwoyo eby’abantu ab’omu bitundu ebirala bingi n’okusukka ku byabwe

We commend all the action that has been taken so far. %% Twebaza olw’ebyo byonna ebikoleddwako okutuuka leero.  
Now, however, we wish to explore more fully what the coming year might entail. %% Naye nno, kaakano twagala okukola okunoonyereza okusingako ku ebyo ebiyinza okugwawo mu mwaka ogujja. 
Your efforts to stimulate the advancement of the Plan %% Kaweefube wammwe ow’okukubiriza okugenda mu maaso okw’Enteekateeka eno 
in its final months will inevitably be shaped by your pressing responsibility to guide the friends in their response  %% mu myezi gyayo egisembayo mu buli ngeri yonna ajja kulabikira mu buvunaanyizibwa bwammwe, obutaliimu kulonzalonza, obw’okuluŋŋamya abeemikwano mu ngeri gye balina okweyisaamu

These unique circumstances require that we address you directly;  %% Embeera eno etali ya bulijjo y’etuwalirizza okubawandiikira obutereevu;

When we expressed our desire to see five thousand intensive programmes of growth established by the end of this Five Year Plan, Bwe twalaga obwetetaavu bwaffe okulaba entegeka ez’amaanyi ez’enkulaakulana enkumi ttaano nga zibangibwawo Enteekateeka ey’Emyaka Etaano weeneggwerako, 
we were keenly aware of the magnitude of the undertaking this implied, %% twali tukimanyidde ddala obuzito bw’omulimu guno,  
but the condition of the world demanded it. %% naye kyali kyetaagisa nnyo olw’embeera ensi yonna  gyerimu.
We called for the work of strengthening programmes of growth to accelerate everywhere. %% Twasaba omulimu ogw’okunyweza entegeka z’enkulaakulana okwanguyizibwa wonna. 
We were gratified to see how the supporters of the Cause were galvanized into action, %% Twasanyuka okulaba engeri abagoberezi b’Enzikiriza gye baakumwakumwamu okukola omulimu,
exerting unprecedented levels of effort. %% nga bassa amaanyi mu kaweefube atalabwangako.
In the space of four years the Bahá’í community doubled both the number of core activities occurring worldwide  %% Mu bbanga ery’emyaka ena abagoberezi Ababahá’í baakubisaamu emirundi ebiri emirimu egy’entomo egikolebwa okwetooloola ensi yonna 
and the number of their participants. %% era n’omuwendo ogw’abo abagyenyigiramu.

Much, then, has been accomplished, %% Kale nno, bingi ebituukiddwako, 
and this is a clear indicator of the strength and confidence of the Bahá’í community. %% era kano kabonero ak’enkukunala ak’amaanyi n’obuvumu obw’Ababahá’i mu bitundu mwe babeera. 
But, as you already appreciate, %% Naye, nga bwe mumaze okukimanya, 
the current crisis has altered the context in which the Plan is being pursued. %% embeera eno ey’obwerende gye tulimu kati ekyusizza engeri Enteekateeka eno gy’ebadde egobererwamu.  
We have been impressed by how many communities have taken great strides in adapting to this new reality. %% Tusanyuse nnyo olw’engeri abantu ab’omu bitundu ebingi gye bayanguyeemu okukyusa enneyisa yaabwe n’etuukana n’embeera eno empya.  
Far from viewing the present period as simply a hiatus to be endured with patience, %% Mu kifo ky’okutunuulira ekiseera kino ng’ebbanga ery’okugumira obugumizi obuzibu mu bugumiikiriza, 
they have recognized that the state of the world has made the need to render meaningful service to humanity more urgent.  %% bakitegedde nti embeera ey’ensi yonna ereeseewo obwetaavu bw’obuweereza obw’amakulu eri abantu bonna okubeera ensonga ey’okukolwako mu bwangu.
Naturally, the activities undertaken must suit the prevailing conditions, %% Weewaawo, obuweereza obuweebwa buteekwa okubeera obwo obusaanidde embeera eziriwo, 
but there should be no doubt that this is a time for noble aims, %% naye tewandibaddewo kubuusabuusa nti kino ky’ekiseera eky’ebiruubirirwa eby’ekitiibwa, 
high resolve, and intense endeavour. %% obumalirivu obw’ekika ekya waggulu, era n’okukola ennyo n’amaanyi.  
As is well known, %% Nga bwe kimanyiddwa obulungi, 
the activities of the Plan are intended to cultivate a thriving community spirit, %% emirimu gy’Enteekateeka gigendererwamu okukuza omwoyo ogutinta ogw’abantu ab’omu kitundu.
through which resilience to mighty challenges is also strengthened.  %% ??
Educational efforts aim to raise up a growing number of souls who can contribute to the spiritual and material well-being of a community; %% Kaweefube mu byenjigiriza aluubirira okulinnyisa ku muwendo ogugenda gweyongera ogw’abantu abasobola okuyamba okuleetawo embeera ennungi mu by’omwoyo n’omubiri mu bantu ab’omu kitundu;  
devotional meetings nurture the spirit of service as it blossoms, %% enkuŋŋaana ez’okusinza zikuza omwoyo ogw’obuweereza ne gutinta, 
rooting it in a culture of collective worship.%% nga gugunywereza mu nnono ey’okusinzizanga awamu.
In short, %% Mu bufunze,
the promotion of the Plan %% okutumbula ebigendererwa by’Enteekateeka
implies building capacity to walk the path of service  %%  kitegeeza okuzimba obusobozi obw’okutambuliranga mu kkubo ery’obuweereza 
in every time and season %% mu buli kiseera n’ebiro byonna 
—which must surely include moments of acute peril in the life of humanity,  %% – mu buli ngeri omuteekwa okubeera ebiseera eby’obwerende, 
such as now. %% nga bwe kiri kaakano.
It is essential, then, that the steps being taken to learn how to apply the Plan’s framework for action to the current circumstances of the world continue in earnest; %% Kale nno, kikulu nnyo nti amakubo agakwatibwa okuyiga okukozesa ebbago ly’Enteekateeka eno lisobole okussibwa mu nkola mu mbeera y’ensi yonna nga bweri kugenda bukwakku mu maaso; 
in all likelihood,  %% nga bwe kisuubirwa ennyo, 
the global health crisis will have a direct impact on Bahá’í activities, %% akazigizigi mu by’obulamu mu nsi yonna kajja kukosa butereevu emirimu gy’enzikiriza ya Bahá’i
to a greater or lesser degree, %% mu ngeri emu oba endala, 
for months or even years, %%  okumala emyezi oba n’emyaka, 
and the task of adapting to the situation cannot be postponed. %% era omulimu ogw’okyusa tusobole okubeerawo mu mbeera eno teguyinza kulindirira.
In this regard, the Continental Counsellors and their auxiliaries, %%  Mu buufu buno, Abawi b’Amagezi mu zi Ssemazinga n’abayambi baabwe, 
ably guided by the International Teaching Centre, %% nga baluŋŋamizibwa bulungi Ekitebe Ekikulu eky’Ebyenjigiriza eky’Amawanga Gonna, 
have shown impressive determination in their efforts to spur on the friends %% %% boolesezza obumalirivu obw’ekitalo mu kaweefube waabwe ow’okukubiriza abeemikwano
and orient them in their approach to the work at hand; %% n’okubalambika mu ngeri ey’okukwatamu omulimu ogwetaagisa okukola mu bwangu; 
they will doubtless do the same over the coming four cycles and beyond. %% awatali kubuusabuusa bajja kukola mu ngeri y’emu mu bbanga ery’ebiseera ebina ebigereke era n’okusukkawo.
 
We appreciate, of course, that some activities have had to be suspended, %% Weewaawo, tukitegeera nti egimu ku mirimu gibadde girina okugira nga giyimiriziddwa, 
and particular strategies or methods that are unsuited to current conditions have had to be set aside for a time.  %% era enteekateeka ezeetengeredde oba enkola ezitatuukana n’embeera eno eriwo zibadde zirina okuteekebwa ku bbali okumala ekiseera.
However, while certain possibilities have been temporarily closed, %% Naye nno, wadde emikisa egimu giggaddwawo okumala ekiseera ekitono,

Flexibility has proven to be an asset, %% Obusobozi bw’okukyuka n’embeera bukakasizza okubeera ekintu eky’omugaso ennyo, 
but so has vigilance in ensuring that the primarily local character of community activities is not diluted; %% naye era n’okubeera abeegendereza okukakasa nti embeera y’abantu ab’omu kitundu gye bakolamu emirimu gyabwe tejungululwa; 
efforts to nurture flourishing communities within neighbourhoods and villages and across clusters must continue. %% kaweefube ow’okukuzaamu okutinta kw’abantu ab’omu bitundu eby’ebibuga ne mu byalo era ne mu bubondo ateekwa okweyongera mu maaso.
In some cases, present conditions have created unexpected opportunities for widening community participation in devotional meetings and study circles, %% Mu ngeri ezimu, embeera eziriwo zitonzeewo emikisa egibadde gitasuubirwa ku lw’okugaziya okwenyigira mu nkuŋŋaana z’okusinza n’ebibiina eby’okuyigiramu obuweereza,
conducted with safety in mind. %%  ebikolebwa nga tukimanyi okwekuuma kintu kikulu nnyo. 
Many parents whose families have been confined to home surroundings have welcomed support that  %% Abazadde bangi abalina ab’omu maka gaabwe nga bakugiddwa obutava waka baanirizza obuwanirirwa 
has helped them to move from the position of observer to protagonist in the spiritual education of their children. %% okubayambye okuva mu mbeera ey’obutunuulizi ne batuuka mu mbeera ey’okubeera abanyiikivu mu kugunjulwa kw’abaana baabwe mu by’omwoyo. 
Junior youth and groups of youth have discovered the power of simple acts of compassionate service carried out with wisdom. %% Abavubuka abato n’ebibiina by’abavubuka bazudde amaanyi agali mu bikolwa ebitono eby’obuweereza obw’okulumirirwa abalala obukolebwa n’amagezi. 
Nevertheless, it would be understandable if you determine, in some instances, %% Naye nno, kyandibadde kitegeerekeka singa mukakasa 
that plans that require the movement of pioneers, mobile tutors, or visiting teachers will have to be postponed, %% nti, mu mbeera ezimu, enteekateeka ezeetagisa okutambula kwa bakansangwawo, abaluŋŋamya abatabeera mu kjfo kimu, oba abasomesa abakyaze zirina okwongezebwayo mu maaso, 
and this should not give you cause for concern; %% era kino kireme okubeeraliikiriza; 
you can re-evaluate the situation in the months ahead. %% muyinza okuddamu okuwekenneenya embeera mu myezi egijja.
The coming One Year Plan could afford an opportunity to fulfil any goals %% %% Enteekateeka ey’Omwaka Ogumu ejja eyinza okuleetawo omukisa okutuukiriza ebiruubirirwa
or objectives that may in the end remain out of reach during the present Plan. %% oba ebigendererwa eby’engeri yonna ebitasoboka kutuukirizibwaero mu Nteekateeka eno eriwo.
 
We recognize that continuing to function in the course of this crisis will, %% Tukitegeera nti okwongera okukola emirimu mu kiseera kino ekya kazigizigi,
in many cases, put you under financial strain, %% mu ngeri nnyingi, munyigirizibwa mu by’ensimbi, 
and the economic hardship being experienced by many in the community may limit the resources upon which you can draw. %% era embeera embi ey’ebyenfuna abangi ku bantu ab’omu kitundu gye bayitamu eyinza okubalemesa okufuna eby’okukozesa.
Be assured that we stand ready to support you. %% Mubeere bakakafu nti tuli beetegefu okubayamba. 
Let there be no doubt or equivocation in this regard: %% Waleme okubaawo okubuusabuusa kwonna oba okwekwekerera ku nsonga eno: 
it is essential that the institutions of the Faith maintain their operations throughout this period %% kikulu nnyo nti ebitongole by’Enzikiriza biwanirira emirimu gyabyo mu kiseera kino kyonna   
and not be obstructed by lack of resources in the discharge of their core duties. %% era n’obutalemesebwa ebbula ly’ebikozesebwa mu kukola emirimu gyabyo egisinga obukulu. 
Unquestionably, the whole company of the faithful in each country will rally around you, %% Awatali kubuusabuusa, ekibiina kyonna eky’abakkiriza mu buli nsi kijja kubeegattako mukolere wamu,

As you are aware, %% Nga bwe mukimanyi, 
there is considerable unevenness in the ways that different societies are coping with the difficulties arising from this crisis; %% waliwo okwesulika kunene nnyo mu ngeri abantu ab’embeera ez’enjawulo gye balwanyisizzaamu ebizibu ebivudde mu kiseera kino eky’obwerende; 
consequently, the challenges that confront different National Assemblies are not the same. %% noolwekyo, okusoomoozebwa okwekiise mu Nkiiko z’Amawanga ag’enjawulo si kwe kumu. 
And these challenges will change over time. %% Era okusoomoozebwa kuno kujja kukyukakyuka okumala ekiseera.
This will call for tremendous agility as local, regional, and national institutions seek to read their reality  %% Kino kijja kwetaagisa obukugu mu kulowooza ennyo ng’ebitongole ebiri ku musingi gw’ebyalo, ebitundu by’ensi, n’eggwanga bwe bikozesa ekiseera kino okwetegereza ennono y’okusoomoozebwa kuno  
and stay alert to new developments. %% era n’okwerinda ebyo ebipya ebiyinza okugwawo.
We wish to impress upon you %% Twagala mukitegeere bulungi 
that your collaboration with the Counsellors will be of paramount importance: %% nti okukolaganira awamu kwammwe n’Abawi b’Amagezi kujja kubeera kwamugaso nnyo: 
it should be committed and sustained, %% kuteekwa okubeera okw’okwewaayo era okw’okuwanirirwa, 
an almost constant exchange of information and insight, %% okulimu okuwaanyisiganya amawulire n’amagezi okwa buli kiseera, 
to ensure that you are responding swiftly to the needs of your community, %% okulaba nti mukola ku byetaago by’abantu ab’omu kitundu kyammwe mu bwangu obw’ekitalo, 
anticipating problems before they emerge, %% nga mwekengera ebizibu nga tebinnagwawo, 
seizing opportunities that open up, %% nga mukwata mavumbavumba emikisa egyeyerula, 
and supporting promising initiatives. %% era n’okuwagira emirimu egitandikibwawo egiraga obubonero obw’obuwanguzi.
Exactly what measures should be taken by Bahá’í institutions will naturally depend on the relevant circumstances. %% Amakubo gennyini agandikwatibwa ebitongole bya Bahá’í, mu mbeera eya bulijjo, gajja kwesigamizibwa ku mbeera ezigwawo. 
But in every place, %% Naye mu buli kifo, 
the friends will need clear and timely guidance; %% abeemikwano bajja kwetaaga okuluŋŋamizbwa okutegeerekeka era okuggira mu kiseera ekituufu; 
special attention must be given to those who are most at risk from the virus itself, %% enkizo eteekwa okuweebwa abo abali mu mbeera enzibu ennyo ereetebwa akawuka kennyini, 
or from the economic impact of its spread; %% oba abo abafunye obuzibu mu by’enfuna olw’okusaasaana kw’akawuka kano;
and creative approaches will be required to sustain the collective spirit of the community during difficult times.  %%  era enkola ey’ekikugu ejja kwetaagisa okusobola okuwanirra omwoyo ogw’obumu mu bantu ab’omu kitundu mu biseera bino ebizibu.
Networks of various kinds comprising families, neighbouring households, %% Enkwatagana ez’engeri ezitali zimu omuli amaka, emiriraano,  
or other groupings are offering valuable support to many; %% oba ebibiina ebirala bawaddeyo obuyambi eri bannabwe bangi;  
you should be confident in the resourcefulness of your communities, %% musaana okubeera okuwagira obuyiiya obw’abantu ab’omu bitundu byammwe, 
and seek to draw on their talents and energies to the fullest. %% era mugezeeko okweyambisa talanta zaabwe n’amaanyi gaabwe mu bujjuvu.  
As grave as conditions have already become in some places, %% Newaakubadde embeera emaze okukaayira ddala mu bitundu ebimu, 
National Assemblies in countries %% Enkiiko ez’Omwoyo mu nsi 
that have so far been spared the more severe consequences of the pandemic %% ezikyafunye ku kalembereza ak’okuzindwa obulwadde buno nnamuzisa 
must keep in mind that there is the potential for worse to occur, %% ziteekwa okukijjukira nti kisobokera ddala embeera okwonooneka, 
and any preparations that can be made now for that eventuality, %% era enteekateeka zonna eziyinza okukolebwa kaakati olw’okwerinda ebiyinza okugwawo, 
before the introduction of further restrictions hampers such efforts, %% ng’okulangirira okulala okw’okukugirwa tekunnaziyiza kaweefube ng’oyo,  
should commence at once %% zisaana okutandkiriawo
—without alarm, but without delay. %% – awatali kubuguutana, naye ate awatali kulindiriza.  
Local Spiritual Assemblies in particular %% Enkiiko ez’Omwoyo ez’Ebitundu Ebisookerwako naddala 
should consider what means might be within their power %% zisaana okulowooza ennyo ku  nteekateeka ezisoboka ze bayinza okuyitamu 
to prevent, relieve, or mitigate suffering in the wider society %% okuziyiza, okuweweeza, oba okukendeeza ku buyinike obuli mu bantu bonna 
of which they are an integral part. %% nabo bennyini mwe babeera.
 
When society is in such difficulty and distress, %% Abantu ab’omu kitundu bwe babera mu buzibu n’obuyinike nga buno, 
the responsibility of the Bahá’ís to make a constructive contribution to human affairs becomes more pronounced. %% obuvunaanyizibwa bw’Ababahá’i okussaawo enkola eyamba abantu mu mbeera zaabwe yeeyolekera ddala. 
This is a moment when distinct %% Kino kibeera kiseera emikululo gy’ebikolebwa ebirabikira ddala 
but interrelated lines of action converge upon a single point, %% ate nga bikwatagana lwe gyegattira awamu, 
when the call to service rings aloud. %% okuyitibwa mu buweereza lwe kuwulirwa ennyo. 
The individual, the community, and the institutions of the Faith %% Omuntu kinnoomu, abantu ab’omu kitundu, era n’ebitongle by’Enzikiriza 
—inseparable protagonists in the advancement of civilization— %% – abawagizi abanyiikivu abatasobola kwawukana mu nteekateeka ey’okukulaakulanya kw’obugunjufu 
are in a position to demonstrate the distinctive features of the Bahá’í way of life, %% basobolera ddala bulungi okwolesa obubonero obwetongodde obulaga engeri Ababahá’i gye batambuzaamu obulamu bwabwe, 
characterized by increased maturity in the discharge of their responsibilities %% obulabikira mu kweyongera okukakata mu ngeri ey’obuvunaanyizibwa gye bakolamu emirimu gyabwe 
and in their relationships with each other. %% era n’engeri gye bakolaganamu.
They are summoned to a fuller expression of the Faith’s society-building powers. %% Bakoowoolwa okweyongera okulaga amaanyi ag’Enzikiriza agazimba abantu ab’omu bitundu. 
Agencies and projects dedicated to social action may have %% %% Ebitongole n’emirimu emitegeke omuli okwewaayo okukola ku nsonga eziruma abantu bikyayinza
to adapt their approaches in order to meet expanded needs; %% okukyusa enkola yaabyo ekwatagane n’embeera eriwo bwebityo bisobole okutuukiriza ebyetaago byazo ebyeyongedde okugaziwa;
efforts to do this are sure to infuse ongoing programmes %% amaanyi agateekebwa mu kukola kino awatali kubuusabuusa gajja kuwa enteekateeka z’emirimu 
with deeper meaning and purpose. %% egikolebwa kati amakulu ag’omu nda n’ekigendererwa.
Further, Bahá’í contributions to discourses newly prevalent in society are generating heightened interest, %% Ekirala, ebirowoozo by’Ababahá’i mu mboozi ezikyase ennyo mu bantu ab’omu bitundu bireeseewo ebbugumu lingi,  
and there is a responsibility to be discharged here too. %% era na wano nawo waliwo omulimu ogw’okukola. 
At a time when the urgency of attaining higher levels of unity, %% Mu kiseera obwangu obw’okutuuka ku maddaala ag’okwegatta aga waggulu ennyo,  
founded on the incontestable truth of humanity’s oneness, %% obuzimbiddwa ku musingi ogw’amazima agatawakanyizibwa ag’obumu obwabantu bonna, 
is becoming apparent to larger and larger numbers, %% bugenda bweyolekera mu muwendo gw’abantu abeeyongera obungi, 
society stands in need of clear voices %% abantu bonna bali mu bwetaavu bw’amaloboozi agawulikika 
that can articulate the spiritual principles that underlie such an aspiration. %% agayinza okulambika obulungi amateeka g’omwoyo agassa essira ku kiruubirirwa ng’ekyo.
 
You are of course ever conscious that your responsibilities reach beyond those of administering the affairs of the community %% Weewaawo ekiseera kyonna mukimanyi nti obuvunaanyizibwa bwammwe busukkuluma ku obwo obw’okulabirira emirimu gy’abantu ab’omu kitundu 
and channelling its energies towards the fulfilment of noble goals: %% n’okulambika amaanyi gaabwe mu kutuukiriza ebiruubirirwa eby’ekitiibwa;
you seek to raise awareness of those spiritual forces %%  muluubirira okulinnyisa okumanya amaanyi ago ag’omwoyo  
that are available to every confirmed believer %% agabeera mu buli mukkiriza akakasiddwa
